Happy Born Day to Frog aka Brian Britt. Brandi and Brian are Madison’s latest power couple to blaze a trail in both their own lanes. October 13, 2023, from 9pm to 1am the unapologetic duo celebrated Brian’s born day at Madison only Black-Owned nightclub, Hayes Place located at 1145 N Sherman Ave, Madison, WI 53704. They doubled back on DJ Pain 1 to keep the party going with all the classic and trendy jams.
Big shout out to Hayes Place (get photo) for running a well-run family business that welcomes the entire community of Madison. This space is something you just gotta see for yourself. One thing that I love about Hayes Place is the bartender’s hospitality. The place is owned by Connie and Dwight Hayes. Connie likes to name drinks after the host of the event. That small touch makes all the difference when event hosts and guests reflect on the wins and losses of every event. We Say, Easy Wins!
Jamie is a white bartender and notable resource in the community. She owns and operates a day job as a daycare provider. Her focus on working in Black spaces is to lead by example the way white people are to educate themselves and offer whatever they can to support the voices and actions of Black focused initiatives. It’s clear why Brandi and Brian chose to host Brian’s born day celebration at Hayes Place. It’s the welcoming vibes, the black staff, the uniting with our people, and overall to support a new and black owned business with a bright future in Madison and beyond.
Who didn’t pull up to this event? Honestly, that’s not even important. Looking around inside the space it looked like a staff retreat between Urban Triage and Inspire Barber Shop as the support from both business’s staff spoke volumes.
It’s one thing to work with someone, but it’s a whole different thing when you kick it with your co-workers outside of work and willingly.
We are talking about a Friday night in the middle of October. It’s cold asf and women was pulling up in sheer stockings and short skirts. Given the circumstances, Urban Triage is involved so, doing it big is expected. Brandi and Brian are like a cheat code to the culture. Brian has the fellas from a looking good feeling great perspective as barbers and brothers. Brandi has the ladies from an unapologetic perspective and fearless leader in repping the culture and securing resources for Black families to sustain affordable experiences to live in a very unbalanced Madison, Wisconsin.
You gotta give props when due. If it ain’t salute, it's looking like hate. No hate this way, we salute what yall got going on in the city!
If you missed Frog’s (Brian) born day celebration, by now I’m sure you’ve heard or seen photos and footage from the experience. Glenda Edwards prepared the food. Dee Saba designed the champagne fountain, the dessert table, and she also captured the night by providing her photography services. The space was beautifully decorated by Perry Perry and the layout was fit for royalty!
Judging the status of the people in the room, it felt like a call-to-action. To see so many people who I’m sure didn’t really have the time to be out on a Friday night, out partying with Brandi and Brian said a lot without saying much. The attendance sheet included the likes of
Clyde Gaines (CapitalLand Music Festival), Anthony Cooper (Focused Interruption), Duowon Rimson, Jackie Brodean, and Zandra said, we can’t forget about "Dara the bartender" whose booty was "so bite-able." Her words, not mine.
Cupcake made an appearance like only she can,
Dwight Hayes touchdown after midnight like a boss,
Michelle Bozeman and her husband was on location from start to finish and that’s real love.
You had reputable street dudes partying with corporate executives based on the strength that they grew up together. On many levels Frog’s born day was like a cultural family reunion. We did it for love, YEAH!
I happened to just start getting in my #LaptopsInTheParty bag when Zandra (Urban Triage) sat next to me and lowkey threw me off. On that night she decided to slide through the party in her peacock blue two-piece (heavy on the spandex) jogger suit and her fit was fitting, you hear me! Let’s just say I was on my best behavior and very much distracted at the same damn time. It must be nice to get a night off and still be with the people you see every day. Urban Triage is a real family, and it never ceases to amaze me on how much their staff really fvck with each other. It’s real love on all sides. Easy Wins!
As 12:30am approached I looked over to my left and saw the look of satisfaction on Brandi Grayson’s face. That was all the confirmation I needed to know Brian’s born day celebration did what it was supposed to do. With perfect timing, Brian walked up to Brandi w/ a shiny bottle of Armand De Brignac Ace of Spade Champagne. That bottle is every bit of $400. His barbers Kenny and Rome moved like the mob as they both were equipped with Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial Champagne - 750ml Bottles. This party was not for the lightweight facebook fakers. Madison who’s who stepped that night.
The respectable "Chop" was in the building, and he don't go anywhere that isn’t the place to be.
Look, if you ever missed anything Urban Triage plays a part in, you gotta forgive yourself and make sure you don’t keep neglecting vibrations to vibe at a higher level in the form of a great time.
Happy born day Frog! We gotta get you in front of the green screen and recap your experience of ushering in Libra season.
ing of the season of Libras with a dress to impress party, grown folk's style. Don’t play with it, don’t play with it, don’t play with it.
