The Way, Not The Wave

l created this dope ass calendar of events for 2020 at the top of the year. What made it dope was after 5 years of promoting the importance of black business to business collaborations. I locked in a 12-month agreement with a local restaurant known for their worldly dishes and catering to multiple forms of satisfaction.

After numerous changes of locations, The Kingdom Restaurant has found a building that complements the hospitality of their business name. Fit for a King, Queen, family, and communities.

You may be thinking how does a clothing company collaborate with a restaurant? The same way Nike collaborates with the world's greatest athletes. Using a term called "audience sharing" Kingdom Restaurant and LessWork Lifestyle partnered together to introduce our audiences to each other.

Hosting monthly events to promote Kingdom's menu to LessWork supporters. Partnering with local brands like CAPO Attire and Keep Up Slam Hard to plan a different approach to Madison's nightlife and we struck gold.

Our unique factors are accredited to Kingdom Restaurant itself. They serve real food which taste great and crazy affordable. *Mention LessWork and receive a limited time discount in-store only.

Here's where things get golden. Not only are we serving better food options after hours. Also accredited to Kingdom our events always last to 3am or later. All my team must do is control the environment and great things happen.

Already hosting 3 successful theme-based parties it won't be long until this formula is demanded across the local market of hip hop in the 6ity of Madison. I credit our weekly strategy sessions as the key to success. Everyone feels a different level of accountability when you must show up with results every week for something 30 or more days away.

What makes our nightlife experience better than anything else catering to local artists?

We give local artists the night off. One night only to engage in games, raffles, photo booths with friends and fans, specialty menu options, local apparel, and more importantly a comfortable space to catch a true vibe. Did I mention we play hip hop all night? Stop playing, the potential is endless when you own your ideas fully.

Fast forward to the month of March and my calendar instantly looks historic. Left and right local businesses are shutting down resulting in the cancelling of events targeting local artists and residents. Big business CEOs have stepped down from their promising positions raising eyebrows from entrepreneurs around the world.

How will local artists without digital success prior to the coronavirus bleed through the noise of established artists online?

Shook by a deadly virus America has become a ghost country. People are only coming out their homes to buy necessities like tissues, soap, water, and food. All of which they're buying in bulk. Leaving store owners, no choice but to limit certain purchase to 1 or 2 items per household but you know how we plan to finesse that move.

Local artists will take a big hit without performing live. Mainly because we sell the most of our merchandise at our live shows. We meet new and existing fans who will be excited about buying our shirts, wristbands, and memorabilia before, during, and after our live show. Live shows give local artists the opportunity to introduce our fans to our personal website to make additional purchases and learn more at their convenience.

We've gone far away from travelling to Nashville, New York, or California to receive recognition from individuals in a room. For some time now the internet has positioned itself as the judge, jury, and the executioner of who's next to blow in the world of music across all genres.

Now more than ever, if local artists want to receive instant notoriety we must work together and locally. Not only with other recording artists but with all local artists in control of a talent or service enough to benefit all parties involved. It's time we turn our talents into services that produce financial safety nets for the uncertain events in life.

Imagine doing music without the pressures of making money. Great relationships with local businesses can make this a reality. Local artists write songs which make them great candidates for writing blogs or hosting local urban stores social media accounts. No one knows the local scene like local artists. With the proper approach to earning the trust of your clients, local artists can excel with creating the trends and tricks of local businesses online presence.

The answer to local artists surviving in a fully digital world depends on the demand of the artists talents and their ability to service local businesses.
